The yet-to-be named product with combine classic Australian vegemite with cream cheese and a ‘secret ingredient’. This controversial concoction will not replace its revered kin, but instead function as a creamier dip or spread.
For the uninitiated, Vegemite and it’s UK cuz, Marmite are savory, salty, muddy-looking yeast-based spreads, packed with B vitamin. They have achieved cult food status around the globe — but particularly in the Commonwealth.
Kraft Australia served up a naming contest, allowing Aussies to chime in on potential new names for the product. Per the Herald Sun, the current list includes Kangamite, McVegemite, Cheesiemite, Moomite, Velvetmite, Vegesmooth and I Just Mite.
