"feed me, I starve"

Hummus and Smoked Mackerel dips
‘Really easy to make and so much better than shop bought.’ The princess is not usually one to take the simple culinary option, but sometimes the simple things really are the best!  I can vouch for this super simple starter accompanied by fresh fresh crunchy raw veg or ‘crudites’ as some prefer to call them….

HUMMUS
2 cans of chick peas – drained and rinsed
2 cloves of garlic
2 lemons
olive oil
salt and black pepper
paprika

Put all the ingredients in a food processor and blitz. Keep adding olive oil until it has a smooth consistency.
Serve in a bowl, drizzle with and sprinkle with paprika.

SMOKED MACKEREL DIP
250g smoked mackerel with skin removed
100g philadelphia cream cheese
5 tbsp horseradish sauce (mine wasn’t very strong!)
1 to 2 lemons
50ml olive oil
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
black pepper

Put all ingredients into a food processor and blitz until the desired texture is reached.
