So many people had told me to go here that I didn’t just because. Well, that was just plain stupid, because the food here is so incredible. I’m tired. And I work too hard. But when I found these pics from an old trip to Italy, I got intensely nostalgic for a plate of hot fresh salty calamari and scampi. Washed down with a glass of crispy white wine, I know no better holiday meal. Oh transport me to the Italian Riviera now!

John’s Pizza, on Bleecker Street, serves the best pie in New York (that I’m aware of so far) but they don’t do slices so build up an appetite. The graffiti that covers the place is a happy testament to thousands of first dates.
