caramel slices at the Orangery London

What a surprise to have the lovely Marion call today and suggest cake at the Orangery in Kensington Gardens. I haven’t been there for years, mainly due to the dreary long queues out the front door and lethargic service. Somehow, today it seemed time to try again, and we were not disappointed, despite the 30 minute wait for a table. This Caramel slice, Coffee and walnut , or Belgian Chocolate cake were my big decision….

A couple of years ago, Lottie made a wonderful Pav and brought it to Sacha’s picnic birthday in Hyde Park. Everyone adored it. We photographed it and it lives here on the belly. But it was time to take the bull by the horns, interrogate her and get down to making my own. Lo and behold a Pav truly is as easy as Lottie says.
